Churdhar West
At 3650 m, Churdhar is the highest peak in the lower Himalayas. An alternative to the Nauradhar route from the east, this trail across the west takes the entirety of two days to reach Teesri. From Teesri, Churdhar can be summited in 3 hours, after which one can return back to Teesri and start trekking to Nauradhar, thus completing a circular traverse of the peak. Although dependent on weather conditions, the final climb from Teesri is not too challenging. As you're about to reach the summit, the ancient Srigul Temple appears. This renowned temple, surrounded by deodar-roofed structures, becomes a hub of cultural festivities during the Navratras.
