Kanasar Lake
Kanasar is a km wide glacial lake in West Garhwal that is considered sacred by locals in the region and is situated at an altitude of 4600 m amid the Nalgan and Supin valleys. A thrilling two-week expedition that's more suited to seasoned trekkers, the Kanasar Lake trek was discovered by local shepherds and has barely been explored by travellers. The trail covers high-altitude ridges, passes & rocky fields, and the lake is covered in ice & snow for most of the year. Deriving its name from two small islands that rise from a corner of its eye-shaped expanse, Kanasar Lake is just one of the many undiscovered lakes in this area.
