Nanda Kot Base Camp
"Nanda Kot," meaning "Nanda's Fortress," is believed to be the abode of one of the sacred forms of the Hindu Goddess Parvati. Legend has it that she established her sanctuary amidst a ring of mountains. Located just outside this ring, in the Kumaon Himalaya range, 15 kilometers southeast of Nanda Devi itself, Nanda Kot offers a truly mystical experience. Starting from the Pindari Valley, the Nanda Kot Base Camp trek takes you on a journey towards the southern wall of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary. As you ascend from the valley floor towards the majestic peak of Nanda Kot, you'll be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the twin peaks of Nanda Devi. This dramatic panorama will leave you in awe of the natural beauty of the Himalayas.
